A young Rohingya boy stops at the top of a hill and looks out over the Balukhali Rohingya refugee camp, near Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. On that hot December afternoon, I witnessed this beautiful moment of innocence and hope in the midst of tremendous suffering.
Since August 2017, more than 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled violence and persecution in Myanmar and taken refuge in the overcrowded camps in neighbouring Bangladesh.
